Carmen in Delfzijl
From the 17th of June until 25th June, the City of Delfzijl will be hosting a unique open-air performance of the Bizet Opera, Carmen. Director Corina van Eijk and conductor David Levi, have pooled their efforts to create of a singularly inspirational, stunningly original, and the most masterful adaptation of 'Carmen' yet performed in the northern Netherlands. A celebrated international cast of professionals has been assembled, and along side emerging talent will help breath new life into Bizet's masterpiece.
Adding a colourful and dramatic backdrop to Carmen, a local festival is taking place. An array of activities and events are planned to coincide with the Opera, including exhibitions, an international choir contest, a concise operatic film festival, business functions, flamenco performances and educational activities.
